Part 3:
I awkwardly sit myself in the back of the bus as the doors close. I get the smell of old school supplies and used gum as I sit in my ripped-up seat. I look out the window at the unusually foggy morning. I'm just lucky I'm the first one on.
I shift restlessly in my seat, my tail making it awkward to even sit like I usually do. I eventually sit forward in a bored position, which is the best thing that feels at least decent. Damn these new bones sticking out of my back... I adjust my hoodie to continue to cover my ears. They are my main concern, as people tend to look at my emo-like hair as I talk. I never get haircuts anymore, and I've grown accustomed to my hair hanging in my face.
One by one, people fill the seats around me to avoid being caught either texting, eating, or making out. Yep, public school buses were meant for just that. God, it sickens me...
The sun eventually finds its way through the clouds and fog to shine dimly in the sky. Well, at least I can see outside now, but the damn fog gives me the creeps. An eerie sense of "This day is haunted." Damn, I want it to end already!
We pull up to the school, and I slowly get my backpack on my shoulders, making sure my hood doesn't fall off. I walk into the halls and--
Just my luck. People start staring at me. Does today actually hate me?!
I try to ignore the looks as I walk to my locker. I plant my face against the locker as I stare down the combination. The metal clanks acknowledge the right combo, and I swing open the locker and put my head in the locker. I search for my books for my first half of the day and hope nobody come--
I hear knocks on my locker door. Damnit! I slowly poke my head out of my locker to see this cute girl smiling at me. She's got the body of an angel and a smile like the sun. Her hair shimmers in any style she wears it, today is crunchy. Her blue eyes are shining at me with optimism and friendliness.
"Oh, Hannah."
"Hey, Dane-boy." She always has a pet name for me.
"You're early to school today. You're actually a minute early."
She suddenly suspects my attitude of avoidance. "What's up your butt today?"
I couldn't muster up a good excuse in time. I just kept trying to delay with "Umm..."
"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" She touched my lips with her finger and giggled.
"Well, you could say that...!" I blushed in embarrassment.
*ring!*
Thank God, saved by the bell! I got my backpack on my shoulders and started to get to class.
"Sorry, Hannah, but I've gotta get to class!"
I sat in my desk and laid my head on the desktop. First period in hell.
