The classic strategy board game has been revamped with a twist in RISK: Factions, which was originally a Playstation 3 and XBOX 360 exclusive title until yesterday, when it was released on Steam yesterday.

You have your choice of the following game modes:
Campaign - Tackling a campaign for each Faction.
Custom Game - Playing original Risk or a custom game based on the new Factions system.
Multiplayer - Essentially the same thing as a Custom Game with human players.

So what's with this new-fangled Factions system? Instead of your classical country affiliations, you can play as the following:

Humans (led by General McGutterpants): The creators of the Robots. Went to war with the Cats and brought the Robots out of cold storage to help them.

Cats (led by Generalissimo Meow): Thrown into a rabid fury by a Human mortar landing in their land during a training exercise.

Robots (led by Commandant SixFour): A computerized defense network of yesteryear which ends up launching a bioweapon that creates the Zombies.

Zombies (led by Colonel Claus von Stiffenberg): Self-explanatory.

Yetis (led by His Excellency, Gary): Ice creatures who apparently had some history with the Humans.

Aside from your regular Earth map, there's many other maps that you can play on. Add in the PopCap-ish graphics and the addictive gameplay, and you have ten dollars well spent.

My bro use to play that all night on 360. When I played it, it was cool.
