Q: Isn't Tikal dead?
A: Tikal
was born about 4000 years ago, but when she sealed herself and Chaos
into the Master Emerald, they were sealed inside and I assume no time
passed for them, because when Tikal was released, she still was alive
and looked the same as she did in the past, as you see in the end of
Sonic Adventure when she turns back into her true form. I think the
ball of light she could turn into was not her spirit, but one of her
abilities. When Chaos and Tikal rose into the air and disappeared, they
were perhaps going back to the past, to another time that would have
been, or to the Emerald Shrine, or perhaps they even were going to
different times to protect the Chao from anyone who might try to hurt
them. To further prove this theory, the picture at the end of SA showed
Tikal and Chaos at the Emerald shrine; most of the SA ending pictures
took place after the stories. So my answer is no, Tikal is not dead.

So there you go, tikal isnt dead.

Factual error:
If they DID go back to the past...
Tikal IS dead, since she was an echidna, but Chaos is alive, being a form of water.

i still say shes alive

Tikal has not been seen since in the storyline, and it is not known
where she and Chaos went, but the image after the Super Sonic story
credits might suggest that she went to Angel Island.

I totally agree

Both her and Chaos are still sealed inside of the master emerald encase something like the events in SA ever happen again so no she's not dead really she's kinda immortal.

She's alive in Sonic Supreme, so my answer is obvious.

It's likely that since their [Chaos and Tikal] spirits were resolved, they were allowed to pass on and do whatever. For Chaos, being a sort of god-thing, this could mean that he could come back when needed. Tiakl, on the other hand...no. Her soul has gone, she's deader than a door. She's not coming back as a living being (flashbacks may be plausible).

I just find it grossly hypocritical that people ask for less recurring characters yet want a character who was completely resolved to come back for no reason. She's a one-shot (sans her non-canon SA2 multiplayer appearance), she doesn't warrant coming back.

Tikal was a good character, and I hope that she is not dead. However, she is not completely alive, either. She might have come back as a ghost or a spirit.

Why would she be dead, anyway? She just got locked in a jewel for no real reason. Where does it say that kills you?

The part where you're stuck in there for 4000 years and therefore lose your physical body if you haven't before you got sealed?

Well, if Tikal was stuck in there for 4000 years, the probability is that she did not lose her physical body and is therefore still alive.

Exactly. We never had any reason to believe she'd die and turn into a ghost inside the emerald.

Physical bodies don't turn into balls of light. She existed merely as a conscience and spirit by the events of Sonic Adventure, with no physical body.
