Don't you think Sonic sucks now? I mean the games are not getting better in terms of the previous entries. The only enjoyed one for the past few years and that is Sonic and the Secret Rings. Which is an enjoyable game? But nonetheless Sonic's games are not good now. I think Sonic 4 might be good, if it is awesome I will buy it. If not then no more of these lies. I say you guys outta play Valkyria Chronicles, Bayonetta, or something else from Sega that is better. I sold the majority of my Sonic games a couple days ago and bought Grand Theft Auto 4 for the Xbox 360. As I said the best decision I ever made in my life. What do you think?

Ordinarily, a gamer would be turned away from a series of games if the latest one in it doesn't meet their expectations (e.g. if one hated Sonic 4, one would never play another Sonic game again).

I think that idea is not only not true, it's very narrow-minded. It implies that just because it's part of a larger collection of games that the individual games must follow suit in terms of quality. That's why I freed myself from thinking about franchises and just focus on games by themselves. That way, I keep the risk of getting burned at a minimum.

Anyway, getting back on task, to answer the question: NO. Although there are a few Sonic games that even I won't be caught next to (and personally I thought Secret Rings had its share of strengths and weaknesses--the racing level with very tight corridors and precise jumping kicked my arse to no end), I don't think the Sonic games are any less the games than they were. A few missteps, certainly, but why should I let those get me down? Instead of getting hung up on Shadow, Sonic 2006 or Black Knight, I choose to focus on the better half (SA1, SA2, and Heroes and Unleashed, each to an extent).

Anyways, While I agree with your statement Phantom, many consider that the bad game streak had/has been going on for more than 3 games in a row. You start to give up hope after something like that, and I don't blame them too much as long as they don't think the streak started as soon as he had a 3D game even though they never played them(and Sonic 3D BLAST doesn't count).

I don't care how "crisp" looking it is and there was no bet ; besides you can't have a bet based on opinions

To me all the games after Sonic Adventure are pretty enjoyable. Some people are losing hope but I never will. :peace:

Agreed. I liked the newer games, and played every one I got my hands on, no matter what anyone else said. I don't think Sonic is getting bad.
